You are allowed to carry items through the Departure Gate as long as it complies with the following measurement:
10 kg per person

S$1 per kg or part thereof for all check-in items in excess of the 20kg allowance up to a maximum of 40kg per passenger
These are the requirement for baggages for check in. Each boarding pass has 20 kg free baggage allowance. Any more than that is considered excess baggage, with the limit of 30 kg per item.

Odd size items have different requirement, as stated below.
S$10 per item up to 30 kg
β Surfboards, wakeboards, bicycles
β Long item that exceeds 1.5m in length
β Large item that exceeds the dimensions of 100cm x 60cm x 30cm
β Item that poses a safety hazard if hand-carried
Improperly Packed Items :
Items not properly or inadequately packed or bundled for safe handling will be refused check-in.
Prohibited Check-in Items :
All Cargo and commercial items or items not adequately packed or bundled for safe handling will not be accepted for check-in at the counter.
